The latest advancements in KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Blue and KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Clear distinguish them from existing screen-printable protective films. Notably, they enhance printability and prolong the storage life of printed surfaces. Additionally, these films can be effortlessly removed without leaving any residue, making them an excellent choice for safeguarding sensitive surfaces like membrane keyboards, head-up displays, and other display and input systems.
Kissel + Wolf GmbH (KIWO) has completely overhauled its screen-printable protective films within the KIWOMASK product range, introducing their latest offerings: KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Blue and KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Clear.
At a glance - the advantages of these new, screen-printable protective films
• Easy application using screen printing and easy residue-free removal
Both the new KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Blue and KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Clear are based on innovative, water-based polymers with outstanding properties. Development was focused on the best possible printability, compatibility with different materials and easy residue-free removal.
• No brittleness
These new products do not age or become brittle, thanks to higher UV and temperature stability. The protective film remains durable even when exposed to temperatures of up to 90°C (194°F) for extended periods and frequent UV drying cycles, all without compromising quality. Both KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Blue and Clear can be effortlessly removed from the substrate surface, even after thermoforming processes. Also, peel-off properties remain unchanged, even after twelve months storage.
• High tear resistance
When the protective film is removed, the special formulation prevents tearing, eliminating any dot-shaped residue remaining on the print edge.
• Ideal for an extensive range of substrates
KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Blue and Clear are both compatible with almost all common substrates such as polycarbonate, polyester, polyamide or PMMA and are also suitable for primer or hard coat coatings.
KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Blue and Clear are water-based. These products are ideal for industrial applications, where mechanical stress demands excellent material properties.
KIWOMASK Print n' Peel series: product versions and their areas of application
In addition to the water-based KIWOMASK Print n' Peel Blue and Clear products, Kissel + Wolf also offers the UV-curing versions: (a) KIWOMASK UV 161/1 Red, (b) Print n' Peel UV and (c) KIWOMASK UV 164. These solvent-free protective films are UV-curable and especially suitable for applications where short processing times are required.
• KIWOMASK UV 161/1 Red is suitable for protection of non-pretreated polycarbonate.
• KIWOMASK Print n' Peel UV is suitable for protecting non-pretreated PMMA and polyester or for hard-coated, painted or powder-coated surfaces.
• KIWOMASK UV 164 was developed as a screen-printable mask for partial sandblasting work on glass or metal. Due to its very high temperature resistance (approx. 210°C (410°F) for 15 minutes), KIWOMASK UV 164 is also suitable for window masking in the production of hollow glass, which is partially coated with an etch-imitation lacquer.
